The representative of the Court of Accounts participates in the internship program of the European Court of Auditors

The status of a candidate country for EU accession and the granting to the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) of observer status within the Contact Committee of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) from EU member countries have generated new professional training opportunities for the auditors of the CoARM.

Thus, at the initiative of the European Court of Auditors (ECA), starting this March, Marina Cataraga, auditor of the CoARM, participates in the internship program organized by ECA for the auditors of the supreme audit institutions from the candidate countries for EU membership. Auditors from Serbia, Turkey and Albania also participate in the program.

The internship program organized by ECA lasts 5 months and is organized twice a year. The European Court of Auditors is considered an important tool to provide insight into the audit of EU funds for the SAI’s auditors in future member states. In this context, ECA places great importance on capacity building and knowledge sharing between supreme audit institutions, as well as on the improvement of audit structures in the candidate states of the European Union.
