The Court of Accounts will carry out an audit mission at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova

The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) will audit the financial reports of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) concluded on December 31, 2020. In this regard, on April 5, a meeting was held to initiate the audit mission, carried out online.

In this context, Eduard Moroșan, Member of the CoARM informed the President of the ASM, Ion Tighineanu, about the performance of the audit, in order to obtain a reasonable assurance that the financial statements are prepared and presented according to the applicable financial reporting framework, with the issuance of an opinion. During the meeting, the audit team was presented and some organizational aspects of the audit were discussed, such as the ways in which the auditors communicate with the audited entity, taking into account the security measures in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The audit team, the representatives of the General Audit Department V within the CoARM, together with the Head of the General Audit Division, Sergiu Știrbu, responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality of the audit, will prepare a report, recording all the findings found during the audit mission.

We mention that the audit was initiated based on the Audit Program of the Court of Accounts for 2021.
