The Court of Accounts participated in the round table organized by AERG

Today, April 22, the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) participated in the online round table "Legal abuses in public procurement during the pandemic period". The event was organized by the Association for Efficient and Responsible Governance (AERG) within the project "Public money is also my money!", Funded by the National Endowment for Democracy.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Public Procurement Agency, the National Agency for the Settlement of Appeals, the Financial Inspection, the National Anticorruption Center, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.

The online meeting addressed current issues related to the transparency of the use of public finances and the misuse of legal instruments in public procurement. AERG also presented the public procurement monitoring report for the period October 2020 - March 2021.

Victor Munteanu, Head of the Audit Department within the CoA intervened during the discussions with some clarifications, findings found during the audit missions, in particular, with reference to the imperfect legal framework, pandemic conditions, planning of public procurement procedures, division of procurement contracts public etc.

At the end of the meeting, the participants stressed the importance of the public procurement monitoring report during the reference period, noting that civil society still has insufficient parts to influence and stop illegal procedures in this area.
