Meeting of the INTOSAI Working Group on Key National Indicators

A delegation of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoA) participated on 24-26 March 2015, at the 8th Meeting of the INTOSAI Working Group on Key National Indicators chaired by the Accounts Chamber of Russian Federation and hosted by the Bulgarian Audit Office.

The meeting was organized in Sofia, Bulgaria and was attended by the representatives of 15 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) - members of the Working Group on Key National Indicators: Austria, Armenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Finland, Indonesia, Moldova, Lithuania, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Zambia and Hungary.

Marianna Spoialo, Head of the Performance Audit Division and Nina Onofrei, Head of the General Division of Methodology, Planning and Analysis represented the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova.

At the event there were discussed issues related to the SAIs practice on implementation and enforcement of Key National Indicators in auditing. In addition, many other themes were discussed: the analysis and feasibility of use of the national key indicators in the context of sustainable development of member countries; the application of key national indicators in environmental auditing, insurance, social assistance, education etc.

Among other important topics on the agenda of the meeting we mention: examination of the Working Group activity report on February 2014 - March 2015; presentation of the study results on readiness of ISA member countries for use in their activity of the key national indicators; presentation of the new version of the unique Platform on national key indicators of member countries, etc.

At the meeting there was approved the Activity Plan of the Working Group for 2015, which comprises the following tasks: finalizing the assessment of member countries of the Working Group on the ability to use and promote the implementation of key national indicators; finalization of the draft standard on the implementation of key national indicators and submitting it for approval at the next INTOSAI Congress; elaboration the methodology draft for the identification, selection and use of key national indicators in auditing, the ongoing maintenance and the permanent completion of the only Platform on key national indicators of the member countries, etc.
