Latest progress in the implementation of the EU Project, discussed with European experts

A new working meeting, in the context of the activities planned under the Institutional Strengthening Project, implemented by the European Union (EU), took place on 9 September.

Boris Filipov, project manager within the EU’s Delegation (EUD), the project experts Kevin Suttie and Peeter Latti, as well as the Members of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) - Petru Rotaru and Andrei Munteanu, discussed the implementation of activities in the context of two objectives of the project.

Peeter Latti and Andrei Munteanu elucidated aspects of the collaboration in the context of improving the Action Plan for the implementation of the CoA’s Development Strategy for 2021-2025, as well as the co-operation of the CoA with the Legislature.

Kevin Suttie and Petru Rotaru presented the progress made in the context of consolidating the financial audit, through the support provided to the pilot audit teams at the stage of planning the financial audit and compliance missions.

The meeting was also attended by Luca Oriani, Representative of the European Commission (EC), and Gintautas Baranauskas, Deputy Head of the EUD’s Operations Department. Mr Oriani assured of the EU's intention to further contribute to the strengthening of the country's supreme audit institution, and noted the successes of the CoARM in recent years in the context of institutional development.
