CoA President had a working meeting with OECD/SIGMA representatives

   On 18 February 2009, an OECD/SIGMA delegation headed by Joop Vrolijk paid a working visit to the Court of Accounts.
After a presentation of the mission and objectives of SIGMA in Moldova, Ala Popescu, CoA President, informed them about the process of reform of the CoA and implementation of the new Law on the CoA.
Thus, following the discussions and identification of the common issues in the activity of the institutions, it was agreed to strengthen the cooperation relations and future assistance in the following areas:
-    to assess the results of the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan and to develop terms of reference for an eventual twinning agreement;
-    to carry out the external audit of local public budgets and EU funds;
-    to raise awareness of the society with regard to the mandate and independence of the CoA.
