Annual meeting of the ITSA and ITASA subgroups

The representatives of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova participated in the annual meeting of the ITSA and ITASA subgroups within the EUROSAI IT Working Group (ITWG). The event took place by teleconference on September 14.

The meeting was organized by the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Switzerland, which chairs the subgroups and brought together SAI representatives from Estonia, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Belgium, Malta, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria, including the Republic of Moldova.

The main purpose of the ITSA and ITASA workshops was to ensure the exchange of information, to disseminate the results of the information technology audit self-assessment and information technology self-assessment exercises that support the core SAI’s processes, and to plan further subgroup activities. Thus, were communicated the results of the self-assessment exercises (ITSA/ITASA) carried out in 2021, in the same order of ideas, being reviewed/updated the lists of moderators on the ITSA and ITASA exercises, as well as the planned future self-assessment exercises.

The representative of Estonia's SAI, which currently holds the chairmanship of the EUROSAI IT Group, also gave a presentation on the activities carried out within the EUROSAI Working Group in 2021, as well as those planned and ongoing, focusing on the Training Program of EUROSAI in the field of IT audit (Training Program and ITWG Research and Training Center Project Group).

During the event, the SAIs from Switzerland, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany and Denmark shared the experience of performing audits in the context of the pandemic situation, remote work management, access and data analysis, etc.

We mention that the ITSA subproject refers to the self-assessment of IT tools, used in audits, as well as to the automation of business processes within the SAI; and the ITASA subproject - for the self-assessment of the SAI’s capabilities regarding the accomplishment of IT audits. The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova has been a member of the EUROSAI ITWG Working Group since 2013.
