Summarizing the mission of the EU expert on pilot audits

The auditors of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) participated, between May 16-27, in a series of workshops, organized within the Technical Assistance Project, funded by the European Union (EU).

The workshops initiated by the European expert Kevin Suttie were attended by audit teams, which perform mandatory financial audits at the Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, and compliance audits at the Public Property Agency and JSC "Moldovagaz".

At the end of the current mission, Petru Rotaru, Member of the CoARM and coordinator of activities under the project, and the EU expert addressed issues such as pilot audits, points for improvement, quality of working documents and quality control processes. Details on the next support missions and planned activities by the end of this year were also discussed.

We note that technical assistance, further provided by the EU through the support of the external expert, focuses on activities to improve the capacity of CoARM’s staff to conduct financial and compliance audits according to the internationally recognized public audit standards and good practices of the EU.
