The SAI's cooperation with the Parliament, discussed at the international level

The delegations of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) from the Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Latvia participated in a meeting with the representatives of the Public Expenditure and Audit Committee (PEAC) of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia.

The event was organized on November 23, in the context of the Forum of Supreme Audit Institutions within the Eastern Partnership of the European Union, organized in Riga. The delegation of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) was led by Tatiana Șevciuc, Member of the CoARM.

The existing practices of examination of audit reports by the profile Committee, as well as the collaboration in the context of the accountability of the audited entities to implement the audit recommendations, was one of the aspects discussed by the participants. Also, the participants shared the national experience on the methods and tools applied jointly by the SAI and the Legislature to ensure a high level of implementation of the audit recommendations as well as to help the audited entities to improve their management of public finances and patrimony.

We mention that the State Audit Office of Latvia organized the Forum of Supreme Audit Institutions within the Eastern Partnership of the European Union in Riga, Latvia, during 22-23 November, in the context of the Development Cooperation Project "Strengthening the capacities of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in the improved application of the International Auditing Standards of INTOSAI".
