The President of the Court of Accounts, at the meeting of the Association of Francophone Supreme Audit Institutions

Marian Lupu, President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) participates in the meeting of the Association of Francophone Supreme Audit Institutions (AISCCUF). The CoARM’s delegation also includes Eduard Moroșan, Member of the Court of Accounts.

The event is organized in Bucharest, Romania, between July 11-12, the main theme being focused on the central topic "Audit of public expenditures carried out during the health crisis and the implementation of sustainable development objectives".

The work of the meeting is organized through debates and exchange of ideas within the numerous sessions, workshops and round tables, organized under the auspices of AISCCUF. The meeting offers the opportunity for collective reflection on issues related to auditing the implementation of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on auditing the funds earmarked to combat the Covid-19 pandemic (SDG 3 – Health and well-being) and on the impact of the supreme audit institution's activity on stakeholders (SDG 16 – Peace, justice and effective institutions).

During the first working day, the heads of the francophone supreme audit institutions and other representatives of the SAI participating in the meeting, together with officials from the World Health Organization, the central public administration and the academic environment, exchanged experience and best practices, through presentations, debates and discussions on the topic "How can one audit public expenditures during the period of the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, from the perspective of the sustainable development objectives of the United Nations?".

The Association of Supreme Audit Institutions that share the use of the French language (AISCCUF) brings together SAIs that are members of INTOSAI that share the use of the French language and the values ​​of Francophonie. The association was created in 1994 and has 45 members, the General Secretariat being provided by the Court of Accounts of France. The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova became a member of AISCCUF in 2008.
