The 20th UN/INTOSAI Symposium

During 11-13 February 2009, President of the Court of Accounts, Ala Popescu, will participate in the 20th UN/INTOSAI Symposium “INTOSAI: Active partner in the international anti-corruption network; Ensuring transparency to promote social security and poverty reduction” that will take place in Vienna, Austria. During the Symposium, the President of the Court of Accounts will make a short presentation “Court of Accounts of Moldova – Partner in Fighting Corruption in the Republic of Moldova”. Representatives of INTOSAI, OECD, World Bank, INTERPOL, European Antifraud Office (OLAF), as well as of SAIs from a number of countries will participate in the Symposium with presentations related to the best practices in combating international money laundering and corruption; enhancing transparency and anti-corruption measures; strategies related to the implementation of the UN Convention Against Corruption; ethical standards and corruption in the public sector, role of SAIs in fighting corruption.
