Sergiu Știrbu was appointed as Member of the Court of Accounts

Today, November 17, the Parliament approved, during the plenary session, the draft decision regarding the appointment of Mr. Sergiu Știrbu as a Member of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova.

The President of the Court of Accounts proposed Mr. Știrbu’s candidacy, selected within a public competition, to the Parliament.

56 deputies voted for the appointment of Mr. Știrbu as a Member of the CoARM.

During today's plenary session, the new Member of the Court of Accounts took the oath.

Sergiu Știrbu has activated within the Court of Accounts since 2000, in the last period he was Head of the General Audit Directorate V.

We mention that, according to article 17 of Law no. 260 from 07.12.2017 regarding the organization and functioning of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, the Members of the Court of Accounts, with the exception of the President, are appointed by the Parliament for a term of 5 years, upon the proposal of the President of the Court of Accounts, on the basis of a public competition, with the vote of the majority of the elected deputies.
