Official visit to the State Control of the Republic of Lithuania

On November 23-24, 2009, a delegation of the Court of Accounts headed by its President Mrs. Ala Popescu conducted, on the invitation of the General Auditor of the Republic of Lithuania Mrs. Rasa Budbergyte, an official visit to the National Audit Office of the Republic of Lithuania.

In the course of the visit, and with a view to meet the provisions of the Cooperation Agreement between the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova and National Audit Office of the Republic of Lithuania, signed on May 31, 2006 in Chisinau, a fruitful exchange of experience took place. This concerned the following aspects: communication strategy; the Law on supreme audit institutions; budgets auditing; annual planning; annual reporting; relations with Parliament; human resources management; and staff training.

The president of the Court of Accounts presented information on reforming the Court of Accounts and transaction from financial control to auditing.

The delegation of the Court of Accounts also had a meeting, at the Lithuanian Parliament, with Mrs. Loreta Graužinienė, the president of the Audit Committee.
