The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) hosts the mission of the expert Peeter Latti, who provides technical assistance within the project funded by the European Union.
In the context of the mission, on October 11, Peeter Latti had a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Public Finances Control Committee (PFCC), Tatiana Cunețchi, and the Vice-chairman of the committee, Artur Mija.
During the meeting, were addressed several topics, such as the cooperation between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the supreme audit institution, the approval of the schedule of PFCC’s meetings on hearing the reports of the Court of Accounts during the next period. The results of the Committee's work at the beginning of the current session were also discussed, such as the examination of the CoARM's audit reports on the financial statements of public institutions and programs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Peeter Latti highly praised the progress made by the Public Finance Control Committee since its inception and showed his openness to further close collaboration.
We mention that the CoARM benefits from the support of the EU’s expert, Peeter Latti within the Project “Technical assistance for the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova in the field of institutional development and improvement of the audit process”. This project ensured the continuity of the technical assistance objectives offered in previous EU’s projects, and focused on improving the CoARM's cooperation with the Parliament and other stakeholders.
The development and implementation of European best practices in the field of external public audit constantly contributes to the development of the CoARM's institutional capacities and to the modernization of the concept of efficient use of public finances.
