The representatives of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM), as members of the Group of auditors for cross-border and transnational cooperation programs (CTCP) financed by the European Union (EU) participated, on the 16th of November, in a training program organized by the Technical Assistance Project for the implementation of CTCP (TESIM) of the EU.

The purpose of the event was to develop the capacities of the national bodies involved in the implementation of the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI CBC) Programs and the Interreg NEXT Program (European Regional Development Fund).

During the training, were discussed topics regarding management checks in Interreg NEXT programs, the control function and related risk mitigation and provisions of the Financing Agreement (mutual rights and obligations between the partner country and the management authority).

We mention that the Court of Accounts is an observer member within the national working group for coordinating the implementation of cross-border and transnational cooperation programs.

At the same time, we mention the fact that the Interreg 2021-2027 cooperation programs are at a final stage of approval, and the Ministry of Finance, as the National Authority and National Control Point within the program, is to start shortly the process of connecting the national management and control system to the requirements of the new EU Regulation 1059/2021. For this purpose, it was considered necessary for the members of the National Working Group to participate in the respective training, as they will later be involved in the revision process of the national management and control system.
