Between October 4-13, the auditors of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) participate in a series of workshops, organized in online format within the Technical Assistance Project, funded by the EU.
Kevin Suttie, the European expert, organized workshops for the audit teams involved in the pilot audits in the field of financial audit. Workshop participants discussed issues related to the implementation of the provisions of the financial audit manual and the lessons learned in the financial audit pilot audits, guided by the European expert.
The current mission also addressed other issues such as the auditor's responsibilities in detecting suspected fraud within the audit, examining the quality of working documents in some audited ministries, the effectiveness of quality control processes, etc.
We mention that the Court of Accounts benefits from technical assistance from the EU in the process of developing institutional capacities. The objectives of the project in terms of financial audit further reveal the strengthening of the capacities of the CoARM’s staff to carry out financial and compliance audits, the development of documentation for these audits, the training of auditors through pilot missions, etc.
