Marian Lupu, President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) participated, as the head of the CoARM’s delegation, at the international conference "Court of Accounts of Romania - Digitization in Audit", an anniversary event organized on the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the law re-establishing the institution.
The event, organized by the Court of Accounts of Romania (CoAR) on September 8, brought together high dignitaries from Romania in Bucharest - leaders of the Parliament, the Government, the Constitutional Court, the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the president of the European Court of Accounts, the Presidents of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Austria, Portugal, France, Estonia, Poland, Serbia, India, as well as the SAI’s delegations of Slovakia, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Albania, Netherlands, Latvia, Czech Republic, Georgia.
The topics of debate aimed at identifying digital solutions for the efficiency of external public audit activity, together with the intensification of cooperation, both at the level of the supreme audit institutions and in the relationship with the audited entities.
During the conference, the President of the CoARM shared the experience of the Court of Accounts in various audit aspects with an emphasis on the use of information technologies and digitization. Also, in the context of the event, the CoARM’s delegation exchanged experience with colleagues from other SAIs regarding the consolidation and development of external public audit.
In this context, the President of the Court of Accounts thanked the heads of SAIs from the member states of the European Union for granting the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova the status of observer within the Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU’s member states.
